Mrs. Katherine Bales Shelton, 64, a former resident of Crawfordsville, died Sunday night at a Danville, Ill., hospital following an operation. Mrs. Shelton was a native of Illinois. She had made her home in Danville since leaving here about 15 years ago. While a resident of Crawfordsville her husband, J. C. Shelton, was associated with the Lee bakery. Surviving are a son, Floyd Shelton, of Wichita Falls, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. Lee Cox, of Covington, and Mrs. Norman Byerly, of Chicago, and two sisters, Mrs. Edith Jackman, of Ladoga, and Mrs. J. D. O'Connor, of Indianapolis. Funeral services probably will be held Wednesday in Covington, with burial also in Covington.
